Corticosteroids

Since, it was established more than 60 years ago, Hovione has accumulated considerable capabilities in the field of steroid chemistry. Having developed its own generic API portfolio and an associated in depth knowledge of these compounds over several decades, Hovione started to offer custom synthesis services more than twenty years ago. Corticosteroids are produced in two dedicated buildings on the Loures site, which are equipped with vessels ranging from 50L up to 4000L.

In addition to its synthetic expertise related to steroid synthesis, Hovione has also accumulated a wealth of knowledge in particle engineering technologies related to these compounds, which allows for end-to-end solutions for these APIs with Inhalation, Nasal and Ophthalmic indications.
