Complexes of chloramphenicol palmitate with calcium pantothenate

Complexes of chloramphenicol palmitate (I) with Ca pantothenate (II) in the mol. proportions of 4:1, 2:1, and 1:1 were prepd. They are free of bitter taste, and produce persistent and higher blood levels than I alone. A mixt. of 2246 g. I and 476 g. II (molar ratio 4:1) was heated to 110.degree. under N, slowly stirred 30 min., then cooled, powdered and sifted.
